Ashley Riggitano’s 'boyfriend,' Drew Heissenbuttel, is ‘devastated’ by suicide

On Feb. 9, 2013, Drew Heissenbuttel, the man who fashionista Ashley Riggitano was allegedly dating at the time of her suicide, spoke out saying he was “devastated” by her tragic death, according to Radar Online.

Hollywood Life reports Riggitano, who killed herself by jumping off the George Washington Bridge on Feb. 6, her 22nd birthday, suffered from depression and was being “tormented by bullies.”

The New York Post has reported that the young fashion designer was feuding with another woman, Alison Tinari, over Heissenbuttel. Radar notes the fight began on Jan. 8 over Tinari’s friendship with the aspiring race car driver.

The Post report indicates Tinari sent a Facebook message to Riggitano that read, “Go try to kill yourself on Xanax again, you unstable loser. Go f*** yourself and never speak to me again.”

Riggitano responded by warning Tinari that police don’t take such threats lightly.

Heissenbuttel told Radar, “Ashley was a gorgeous girl and we had a great relationship… We were on and off for some time but were together again at the time she passed away. She loved me and I loved her back.”

He added, “I’m still trying to figure out why this happened and to piece it all together. I am very upset, I’m absolutely devastated. I just don’t know why she did it.”

Heissenbuttel said he was aware of the Facebook feud, but refused to comment on the matter.

He also claims that on the day she died Riggitano told him she loved him. “I knew something was wrong though, but I didn’t know what,” he said.

Hollywood Life reports that despite what Heissenbuttel told Radar, Riggitano’s family said the two were not dating at the time of her death and that the she was single.

According to her family, Riggitano was slated to graduate from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising this year, PIX 11 reported.

Zap2It.com reports she designed jewelry and was an intern for Alex Woo, Tommy Hilfiger, and Nicole Miller.
