Ashley wore No. 17 for the Steam last season while playing on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. She does the same thing in the offseason that she does during the season, which is motivate people to improve their overall wellness as an accomplished lifestyle and wellness coach with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Her “mind and body” fitness coaching techniques have helped women overcome their weight loss and workout challenges through a flexible and customizable plan to achieve the body and mental state they desire.
Ash took some time out from her schedule to talk about what she’s been up to since the Steam season came to an end.
On her relocation to Atlanta: “I moved to Atlanta last year to work in a bigger market, and establish a personal business in personal coaching, sports performance, and corporate wellness on a large scale I am currently in the process of partnering with a business consulting company and working with them as a professional mind and body health coach.”
On her background: “I have worked in the fitness industry for over 12 years, in multiple positions including training, fitness management, and regional fitness director.”
On preparation for the coming season: “I work out 5-6 days a week, and have been concentrating on getting stronger, faster, leaner, and better at what I was exposed to last year during football. Looking forward to this season and hopefully making the team and getting another shot!”
Ashley will get her chance, as will hundreds of others, when the Steam host their 2014 season tryout on Saturday, October 26th.
Football isn’t the only game Ashley plays. She’s also part of the Models Basketball League, a charitable organization that serves the community through fundraisers, meet and greets and other scheduled activities. They also have played before Atlanta Hawks home games.
