Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti are splitting up after more than 10 years of marriage. Judd, 44, and Franchitti, 39 issued a statement to PEOPLE on Jan. 29 announcing their split. The "Missing" star and racecar driver were engaged for about two years before getting married in an extremely private ceremony in 2001 in Scotland. There was no reason given for the split.
Judd and Franchitti issued a statement saying, "We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
Ashley's sister, Wynona Judd, served as maid of honor at the wedding and Dario's brother, Mario, was the best man. Judd was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the TV series "Missing". She played a mom with a vengeance in the series. Franchitti won the Indy 500 championship three times. They do not have any children together.
Ashley Judd is country music star Naomi Judd's daughter and has starred in movies such as "High Crimes" and "Double Jeopardy." Recently, she has turned her attention towards Humanitarian work with young people and AIDS sufferers. There has been mention in the news of Judd possibly being a Democratic candidate in 2014 for the U.S. Senate. No formal announcement has been made.
