Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti are divorcing after ten years of marriage. According to a Jan. 30 People report, Judd released a statement on Tuesday explaining that the decision to end the marriage was a mutual one.
Franchitti, 39, is a racecar driver. Judd, 44, is an actress, political activist and member of the Judd family. Ashey’s mother, Naomi, and sister, Wynonna, make up the country singing group The Judds.
Judd, star of “Missing,” and Franchitti were engaged for two years prior to getting married in an extremely private 2001 ceremony in Scotland. Wynonna was the maid of honor and Dario’s brother was best man.
Ashley said she and Dario will continue to consider each other family because of the love, integrity and respect they have always shared. Neither side has offered any additional information as to what went wrong or why the couple has decided to part ways.
