Ashley Judd ends marriage with Dario Franchitti (Video)

In a joint statement released to People on Tuesday, Jan. 29, Ashley Judd and her Scottish racecar driver husband, Dario Franchitti, announced that they were ending their 12-year marriage.

“We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed," the statement read.

Ashley, 44 and Franchitti, 39 got engaged in December 1999 and married in Scotland in December 2001 with her sister, Wynonna Judd, serving as the maid of honor. The couple did not have any children together and in 2005 Ashley had famously shared with the press, “It's unconscionable to breed, with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries.”
