Ex-call girl-turned-Playboy centerfold Ashley Dupre says she's happy with her nude photospread and is working to move past her sordid past.
Dupré, 25, became an overnight tabloid sensation in March 2008, when Eliot Spitzer resigned as governor of New York after news surfaced that he had been caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet a prostitute (Ashley) at a Washington, D.C., hotel.
Since then, the pretty 5'2" brunette has tried to live down her sex-scandal notoriety -- with little success.
When she was unable to launch a successful music career, Dupré was hired to be a sex columnist for the New York Post and is continuing to pursue her music.
When asked why she decided to pose nude for Playboy now -- two years after her scandal erupted, Dupré says she's trying to use her notoriety to "build an honest life" for herself.
DAMAGED BY DIVORCE
Ashley grew up a fairly happy child in New Jersey but was devastated when her parents divorced. Making matters worse, her older brother ran away from home when Dupré was a teen, throwing her into a depression so deep she tried to kill herself by swallowing 50 Advil and 50 Tylenol tablets. 
As a teen, Ashley fell into an unhealthy relationship with a guy 10 years her senior. When her mom forced a break-up, Dupré ran away from New Jersey to her dad's place in North Carolina.
There, she began running with a bad crowd and started doing drugs (ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana and mushrooms).
HOOKED ON DRUGS
Ashley eventually moved in with a drug dealer and partied constantly, until one day she got so high that a guy forced her into a bedroom and raped her. Things got worse from there, until she moved to New York, where she famously began a short-lived stint as a high-priced call girl to make ends meet.
While it's easy to judge Dupré by her sleazy past, she insists she's trying to move past it all. "At the end of the day, I’m just trying to make the most of my situation and build an honest life for myself," she says.
Ashley, a fitness fanatic who works out daily, has been clean and sober for several years now, and is optimistic about her future.
"The scandal catapulted me in front of the world," she says. "But it’s my brain and what I have to say that will allow me to succeed."

aww, i feel bad for the whore.
You know there are girls that unfortunately through bad genetics don't even have anyone willing to rape them that still find a way to make an "honest" living. This girl had some decent genetics and she flushed it all down the toliet for drugs and a rock and roll lifestyle.
How's that all working out for you?

Who would ever choose to be a drug addict or a prostitute in their right mind?
