Asheron's Call adds new playable race and more in latest update

Turbine has added new features to its classic MMORPG, Asheron's Call.

Notable in the features is a new playable race, the Shadow.  A new kind of magic called Aetheria has been added, which can be transformed into powerful Sigils. Barbershops have been introduced to allow players to change their hair styles, and are located near tailors. Also introduced is multi-slot armor, allowing players to reduce the size of armor pieces once a month.

Asheron's Call was released in 1999, produced by Turbine and published by Microsoft, who relinquished control of the game to Turbine in 2004. It was one of the first five major MMORPGs to be released.
