Asexual Awareness Week ended, and Examiner.com did not cover the event. Technical issues prevented the Terre Haute Asexual Examiner form posting a column. (The technical issues were related to the name change and were not the fault of Examiner.com) If the writer stated her what she wanted more clearly, she would have started posting again several weeks ago.
The week dedicated to raising awareness about asexuality passed with little fanfare. Vlogger and activist Swankivy became the target of several columns. The Huffington Post's Gay Voices section also ran articles throughout the week. Swankivy also announced plans to publish a book on Asexuality.
Sara Beth Brooks started the week several years ago to raise awareness of a little-known sexual orientation. Since then, the event has become a worldwide phenomenon. The AAW organization did not set an official date for the event last year because its founder faced health issues, although many asexuals chose the third week in October as an unofficial date for the event.
