Featured in the "Theros" event deck "Inspiring Heroics," Ascended Lawmage is an uncommon Azorius creature card from "Dragon's Maze." Although four mana may seem steep, looks can be deceiving and you shouldn't underestimate this evasive and hard to kill creature making Acended Lawmage a powerful addition to a casual player's deck.
Ascended Lawmage - 2WU
Creature - Vedalken Wizard (Uncommon)
A lawmage's runic script is an act of governance given form: Legislation written directly onto the air itself.
Because Ascended Lawmage has hexproof you don't need to worry about an opponent casting a removal spell in response to your Ordeal of Heliod or Ordeal of Thassa. That also means it'll be frightfully hard for your adversary to deal with if you've enchanted Ascended Lawmage with a bestow creature such as Celestial Archon, Observant Alseid, or Nimbus Naiad.
Even without a fancy aura or equipment attached to Ascended Lawmage to make it bigger this creature can still be intimidating. Unless your nemesis is packing spells that don't target like Far and Away, Anger of the Gods, or an overloaded Mizzium Mortars, they'll be on a short without any flyers or creatures with reach to block it.
How will you use Ascended Lawmage?
