Signal Studios opened up beta sign-ups for its free to play Xbox LIVE Arcade title, Ascend: New Gods, on Wednesday. Xbox 360 owners interested in the beta for the action RPG title should head over to the game's website now.
Ascend: New Gods puts players in the boots of Caos warriors who pledge allegiance to one of three gods - the Goddess of Darkness, the God of Light, or the manipulative Lord of the Void. The players can then guide their characters on quests to invade opposing gods' lands and defeating immortal giants called Titans.
The game is being built as a "seamless" single player and multiplayer experience. Players will be able to watch other players go on their quests but will not be able to directly interfere. Instead, they can purchase and send "blessings" to aid friends or "curses" to hamper them.
A release date for Ascend: New Gods has not been revealed yet but the title is expected to be released later in 2013. You can check out a trailer for the game from last year's E3 in our video gallery that features developer narration to better understand the seamless multiplayer concept.
