This year I wasn’t able to attend one of my favorite Stellar Week events and that is the Morning Glory Breakfast reception sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

I sent correspondent Carmen Bonner to cover the event and she as well as our photographer Lois Ingrum did a great job updating my readers on the goings occasion. Here is a quick re-cap of the event according to these two ladies.

ASCAP honored several tops artist at the event including, Grammy Award-winning artist Edwin Hawkins. Hawkins was presented with the Gospel Icon Award. Tye Tribbett and Warryn Campbell were also honored with the newly-established Spirit of Song Award.

The event was hosted by Georgia’s own Pastor Marquis Boone of Fresh Start Church in Duluth, GA. There was also a power filled performance by another Georgia peach Tasha Cobbs, whose performance of her hit “Break Every Chain” according to Carmen “moved the entire place.”

In tribute to Edwin Hawkins Chuck Harmony, a legendary producer, sung O’Happy Day. Others who performed were Jonathan McReynolds and Livre.

There were several artists that walked the red carpet and attended the event including Kelly Price, Alexis Spright, KSE Sunshine Band, Shekinah Glory Ministry, Patrick and Christina Dopson and Ted Winn. Here is Lois’ slide show of the event for you to enjoy!
