Detroit death metal band As They Sleep announced earlier this week that they will be taking part in the upcoming Metal Madness Tour, along with San Diego brutal death metal band Pathology. Additional bands will be announced soon.
The tour begins on March 6 in Romeo, Mich. and will take the bands to 28 locations. On April 1, the tour will be in Springfield at Pop’s. The full list of tour dates can be found here.
As They Sleep released their sophomore album, Dynasty, in 2010. Sputnik Music described the album as “a very solid Death Metal album. Encasing melody and brutality within the same set of songs, the band puts out a very talented and engaging album,” giving it a 4.5 out of 5 "superb" rating.
Pathology’s fourth studio album, Awaken to the Suffering, was released in 2011. It was the first with Matt Huber of I Declare War, who took over vocals after Matti Way left the band.
Metal Underground praised Awaken to the Suffering as “a non-stop blast of metal with enough variety and clarity to make it one of the better albums in the scene. It doesn't do anything new, but what it does achieve is a good quotient of brutality.”
