AS Roma and Parma FC continued playing their game on Wednesday morning after having the game suspended two months ago due to heavy rains.
As reported by ESPN Deportes on Wednesday, Roma took the victory over Parma with a final score of 2-1. The game was played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
The original game had ended at the eight minute back in February 2 with both teams scoreless due to the fields being too muddy from the rain.
When the game continued on Wednesday morning, AS Roma score right away in the 12th minute of the game, via Ivorian striker Gervinho.
Parma FC tied the game three minutes later with a goal from Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah. The 1-1 tie only lasted a minute because Francesco Totti scored in the 16th to put Roma up 2-1.
In the 49th minute, Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic scored, and, in the 82nd minute, midfielder Rodrigo Taddei scored the fourth goal for Roma.
Parma managed a consolation goal in stoppage time, via Jonathan Ludovic Biabiany, but it was not nearly enough to tie the game. The final score was 4-2 in favor of AS Roma.
The victory keeps some slim hope for Roma to possibly catch up to Juventus FC, the leaders of Serie A, who are ahead by eight points.
