As Roger Waters tour rumors swirl, could Bonnaroo 2010 be on the itinerary?

The internet is abuzz today about an article from a Japanese web site that states Roger Waters’ tour manager is floating word of a 2010-2011 world tour by the former Pink Floyd front man, claiming they already have six shows booked for the planned tour. While Waters has toured quite a bit in recent years, the buzz surrounds the claim that Waters’ tour will feature Pink Floyd’s monumental album The Wall in its entirety.

Waters is no stranger to lush productions of Pink Floyd materials. His 2006-2008 tour featured Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety as the second half of the show. Waters has also shown himself willing to bring his show to a large festival atmosphere, headlining the 2008 Coachella Music Festival along with Prince and Jack Johnson.

These rumors have die hards on the Bonnaroo fan sites wondering if 2010 could be the year that finally sees Roger Waters come to Manchester. Waters has often been mentioned as one of the most wanted headliners by Bonnaroo fans and a full production of The Wall would bring the kind of big name spectacle that Bonnaroo seeks to have for their Friday or Saturday night headliners.

While the much hoped for Pink Floyd reunion seems permanently stymied by Waters’ and David Gilmour’s personality conflicts, the possibility of a Roger Waters solo show in Bonnaroo’s future seems quite plausible. Could 2010 be the year that the long running Bonnaroo rumors finally come true? Fans will have to wait for late January or early February to get those answers. Until that time, let the speculation begin!

If Roger Waters does The Wall, I demand that he brings back the full stage show with the actual wall being built on stage and everything. I dont want any punches pulled. Bonnaroo is perfect for a show like that.
