Tim Lambesis, vocalist for the Grammy nominated Christian metal band As I Lay Dying has pleaded guilty in court today, admitting that he did hire a hit man to kill his now estranged wife Meggan. He was first arrested in 2013 for solicitation to commit a crime and for conspiracy to commit a crime. Lambesis supposedly asked his personal trainer if he knew of any one who could kill her, and then supplied monetary compensation and sensitive information to the man, expecting that someone would be found to carry out the murder.

He explained that he wanted his wife killed because she was getting more than half of his income and would not let their three young children go on tour with him. Court documents show that his wife Meggan filed for divorce in September 2012, citing her husband's "obsession with bodybuilding" and claimed that he was not attentive enough with the children, even falling asleep while watching them. She also claimed that he spent thousands of dollars on tattoos.

Lambesis originally had entered a different plea; the change has now given him a sentence of 9 years in prison.
