Tom Hawkins handled the logistics of this event. His report:

Hello all:

At long last, here is a follow-up to our event, "As American as Apple Pie", held at Woody Meiszner's New Ipswich Farm last Saturday, October 6TH. Sorry for the delay, but it took a little time to figure out this "new" blog presentation format on Word Press. Please let me know if you have any problems viewing the posted material or wish to have any photograph removed from the presentation.

We think the event was a total success. We had 62 attendees from New Ipswich, Temple, Sharon, Peterborough, Greenville, Wilton, and more. We had seven speakers, including Annie Kuster (Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress); Steve Spratt, Jennifer Daler, Kermit Williams, Richard McNamara (Democratic candidates for the New Hampshire House); Peggy Gilmour (Democratic candidate for State Senate); and Mark Fernald, who emceed the event. We had 13 apple pies, six gallons of cider, forty cups of coffee, and four dozen donuts. And we had a perfect Fall day with Democratic Blue Skies which lasted to the very conclusion of the event, when the skies opened and we were washed with a quick Progressive Fall Shower !!!!

It was clear at the end of the day that we have a slate of very capable and forward thinking Democratic candidates who will go to Washington and to Concord to serve our interests. We need only to ensure that we get out the vote on November 6TH. Now is the time to step up and commit to vote and commit to volunteer to help get our Democratic neighbors to the polls. If you can sacrifice a few hours between now and November 6 to work at contacting voters as part of our Get-Out-the-Vote campaign, please let me know ( 603-731-2326), or call 866-2-VOTE-22, or contact Will Pfeffer at OFA-NH ( 603-261-5080). Organizing-for-America has put together a well orchestrated grass-roots-based Get-Out-the-Vote machine that is being coordinated with federal, state and local Democratic campaigns. This is our answer to all the Super PAC money being poured into this fall's campaigns. We need to help staff that machine !!! Time to step up . . .

And check out the link below to follow-up on our "As American as Apple Pie" Candidate Meet and Greet Event !!!

See you at the polls.

Best regards,

Tom Hawkins
