Songwriter, DJ and vocalist Aruna has released her solo single "Reason To Believe," today on Beatport through Enhanced Music. "Reason To Believe" is one of the stand-out tracks on the Digitally Enhanced Volume 6 compilation that was released earlier this month.
"I wanted to step outside of the box and create new lyrical patterns and melodies that I hadn't employed before," says Aruna. "That's why I co-wrote this track with someone new to EDM."
Aruna partnered with fellow Los Angeles musician, David Bowick of the band Alder, and says that working with someone outside of the tight-knit dance music scene brought a fresh perspective to her songwriting.
Aruna's extensive body of work in electronic music includes work with producers such as Cosmic Gate, ATB, Myon & Shane54, Filo & Peri, Ronski Speed and Roger Shah. Her debut solo single, 'Let Go,' was released on renowned UK imprint Anjunabeats' Volume 8 compilation and cracked the iTunes Dance Top 200 singles chart at #150. But Aruna's true breakout moment came in May 2012 when her track 'Live Forever' with Dutch superstar Ferry Corsten shot to #2 on the UK Upfront Top 40 Club chart. 'Live Forever' became one of the Top 50 most played tracks of 2012 on Sirius XM BPM and stayed at #1 on the Beatport Trance chart for nearly eight weeks straight, while the official music video racked up more than half a million views on YouTube -- over 100,000 in the first two days alone. In early 2013 she also collaborated with the #1 DJ in the world, Armin Van Buuren on the track, 'Wont Let You Go' which was on his latest, chart-topping, artist album Intense.
