ArtWorks! at the Frost Museum at FIU

ArtWorks! is an exhibition devoted to healing arts and showcases students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools in the art therapy program. The exhibition begins Wednesday, February 10, 2010, between 6pm-9pm and it is a free event. They will also feature art created by cancer patients who participate in the Arts in Medicine Program sponsored by the Children's Cancer Fund, an affiliate of The Jackson Memorial Foundation.

The Arts in Medicine Program is where local artists and volunteers donate their time to providing patients with creative endeavors, while promoting an environment of self-expression.  This program is sponsored by the Children’s Cancer Fund which provides its patients and their families with support, knowledge and guidance they need to cope during times of physical, mental and emotional struggle.

The Jackson Memorial Foundation helps the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center provide medical care to the South Florida community, while advancing medical knowledge through vital research programs.

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University is located at 10975 SW 17th Street, Miami, FL 33199.

This is an awesome article. Lots of positive outlets for teens. I am actively trying to prevent myself from snatching my daughter BALD HEADED. Taking it 1 day at a time- as of tonight, she has a full head of hair... ;)
