The June 13, 2014, second annual “Artscape” is a special event held the evening before the Leland Food and Wine Festival. It showcases artwork by Northern Michigan artists, from which will be selected the piece to be featured on the 2015 Leland Food and Wine Festival poster. Attendees may purchase the artwork and vote for a People’s Choice, while enjoying flagship wines from regional wineries and appetizers from local restaurants. The event benefits the Leland Chamber of Commerce and the Leelanau Community Cultural Center/The Old Art Building.

Artists who submitted to the exhibition, were allowed to enter four pieces of work by May 16th. The selected artists were invited to submit framed, ready-to-hang, two-dimensional artwork of subject matter related to the event and area - Leelanau landscape, vineyards, Leland, beaches, panoramic views, dunes, orchards, etc. Artwork will appear on paper, canvas or board, and be accomplished in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, or a combination of painting and/or drawing techniques.

If you're looking to purchase and curious of the dimensions, most artwork submitted will be square or rectangle, with proportions comparable to 1x1; 16x20; 9x16; or 24x30.

On June 1, 2014, artists will be advised of selection for the exhibit. Selection will be decided by the Artscape committee, in consultation with the Leland Chamber of Commerce and the Leelanau Community Cultural Center/The Old Art Building.

Selected work should be delivered to the Old Art Building, 111 S. Main Street in Leland, on June 12, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Artwork will be hung that day.
Judging will take place on June 14.

Unsold work may be picked up at 5:00 p.m. on June 14 or between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on June 16.
