Saturday may be Music Walk, but Arts for ACT Gallery is already revving up for the July 1 reception for its annual summertime open themed group exhibit.
This is the exhibit's fourth year, and artists entering the juried competition were asked to choose between two themes: “Out of MY Mind” or “Think Inside the Box.” More than 100 highly talented artists from widely disparate genres and disciplines entered the juried exhibition. Works by 75 artists were chosen for the show. As you can imagine, the selected artworks represent a variety of diverse and thought-provoking perspectives reflecting this year's divergent themes.
Among the artists who submitted work for the exhibition are Rasmussen College students from the School of Technology and Design Center taught by Ms. Jennifer Ayotte. The students created an interesting array of pieces that will amaze, dazzle and inspire viewers.
Cash prizes of $100.00 for Best of Show, $75.00 for second place, $50.00 for third, and $25.00 for honorable mention will be awarded, with the winners to be announced during the Art Walk reception, which takes place between 6 and 10 p.m. on July 1.
This exhibit continues through August 2, 2011.
Arts for ACT Gallery provides a quality, contemporary exhibition gallery featuring original art, limited edition prints, giclees, hand-crafted fine crafts, tee shirts, silver and glass bead jewelry, gourd art, raku, clay, and art cards. It is a “must see” destination for all art lovers and collectors, providing a unique opportunity for everyone to learn and enjoy art. Highlighting the art of the current featured artist, the front gallery, reminiscent of galleries in SoHo, has 12 to 16 foot high ceilings, distressed brick walls, and warm wooden floors. It is a great opportunity to meet the gallery’s featured artists, enjoy some local food and have a glass of wine, and engage in lively artful discussions.
