Downtown Phoenix is truly blossoming into a rich community of artists, entrepeneurs, businesses, and families, and ArtLink is celebrating its downtown family with Art Detour 26: Living in Color. The 26th Annual Art Detour will be held this weekend March 8 – 9 in the arts district of Downtown Phoenix. In this FREE, grandiose event, Art Detour will showcase the growing vibrancy of the downtown Phoenix Area and the positive steps that the community has made to nurture the arts, culture, and historical continuity of the area.
The free event will give participants access to over one hundred downtown spaces, including working artist studios, galleries, cultural venues, restaurants and retailers. “Detour-ists” will have the unique opportunity to visit the private working studios of downtown artists, to explore Pop-Up Gallery exhibits planned exclusively for Art Detour, and to discover the abundance of public art and mural work that colors the downtown area.
Art Detour 26 is a family friendly event, and will offer free arts programming for children through “Kids’ Detour” activities at participating venues.
As there is so much to see, ArtLink will be providing a free double-decker London bus to carry you around in style when your feet need a little rest. The bus will make stops at neighborhood “park-and-ride hubs” in Roosevelt Row, Grand Avenue, CityScape, and the Arizona Center.
