'Artists with Heart' to benefit ACT and its gallery and boutique on February 1 (Photos)

Arts for ACT Gallery & Boutique is featuring the impressionism of artist Pat Dunn, Kids with Cancer (a fundraiser supporting the Young Artists Awards) and Artists with Heart! - a fundraiser featuring art donated by more than 20 local artists to help Arts for ACT.

A call to local artists was sent in late December asking for donations of art to help raise money for ACT Gallery and ACT. The donated art could be no larger than 12” x 12” and was required to have at least one heart or an endearment incorporated into the created piece. The money generated from the sale of these pieces will benefit ACT and ACT Gallery.

ACT Gallery is a project of Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., which operates two shelters in Lee County that support and house the victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault and their children. Arts for ACT Gallery & Boutique helps generate income for ACT. It has been in existence for 10 years in downtown Fort Myers.

"Our local artists have really given us a lot of their heart," states ACT in the press release announcing the exhibition and sale.

So far, 16 artists have paid it forward and have completed and delivered over 30 pieces of heartfelt works. Exhibiting artists include Cheryl Fausel, Honey Costa, Paula Eckerty, Kim Roenigk, JoAnne Bedient, Linda Benson, Claudia Goode, Peg Cullen, Barb Mintz, Vicki Baker, Karen Jarsted, Beth Ivens, Pat Cleveland, Katherine Boren, the artist Zaki, Helen Andrejev and more.

See what each artist created with love, and buy a piece of art for your Valentine! The exhibition and sale takes place on Friday, February 1st, when Arts for ACT Gallery & Boutique hosts a 4-hour reception for the artists from 6-10 p.m. that runs concurrently with Art Walk.

Arts for ACT Gallery & Boutique is located at 2265 First Street, in the century-old Arcade Building located in the heart of the downtown Fort Myers River District. For more information, please visit www.artsforactgallery.com or telephone 239-337-5050.
