Art explodes on Central Avenue
St. Petersburg has taken on a concentrated effort to grow the artist community in the past year. In addition to the new museums and exhibitions highlighting famous artists in the area, the 600 block of Central Avenue is transforming into an art lover’s dream with the opening of many new independent art galleries and shops featuring new and local talent.
Once vacant and aging, old buildings along Central are now coming alive with art of all different styles and mediums. There is a tremendous range of talent in new shops just waiting for you to explore.
Art on Central – A Live Painting Event
How would you like to stroll along Central Avenue and see artists lined up and down the street – painting and creating artwork in their medium right in front of you? You’ve got it!
Over 40 local artists are taking it to the street this weekend where you can watch them paint live, ask questions and score some incredibly fine-looking artwork for your home or office.
Who will be there?
If you follow artists in the St. Petersburg community, you may get an opportunity to chat with your favorite. A wide range of local artists will be participating in the event.
