Artists Nancy Skolos and Thomas Wedell return to Lancaster next month in time for First Friday. The husband and wife team will be at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) as guest speakers and artists. The Main Gallery exhibit, “Skolos and Wedell: A Poster Retrospective,” will feature the duo.
On Friday, 1 November the two will be the guest speakers at PCA&D’s Artist Talk session. The session is scheduled for 4 p.m. The reception for the First Friday showing runs 5 to 9 p.m. The exhibit will continue through 3 January.
The two create collaged three-dimensional images influenced by cubism, technology and architecture. Both Skolos and Wedell teach at the Rhode Island School of Design. They are also in practice together, sharing an interdisciplinary design and photography studio. In May 2012, Skolos and Wedell spoke at the PCA&D graduation.
The Main Gallery is open free of charge to the public from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The Gallery is closed Sundays and from 28 November through 1 December for the Thanksgiving holidays.
PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.
