ountry fans across the area should be excited for WPOC’s Sunday in the Country music festival this weekend. Held annually at Merriweather Post Pavilion it’s a day of country music and relaxation.

Last year’s concert included artists such as Sugarland, Billy Currington and Rodney Atkins. WPOC made sure to live up to expectations by featuring artists such as The Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town, Jason Michael Carroll. New comers Love and Theft are sure to put on a great show and will most likely feature their hit single “Runaway.”

All the performers are sure to put on a great show this year but keep a look out (or an ear out) for Darius Rucker who will also be performing. Former lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, Rucker had an almost instant success with country music this past year. Every one of his country singles have quickly climbed to number one in the Billboard country charts making him the first artist since Wynonna Judd to have three consecutive singles reach number one.

Needless to say WPOC has put together a great line-up and what better way to spend your Sunday afternoon than on the lawn with a beer in your hand and live country music playing in the background.

The concert is Sunday, September 27 at Tickets are sold out for the concert but that doesn’t mean you can’t try to win them on 93.1 WPOC.
