The arts collide in a special evening of music and painting at The von Liebig Art Center on January 25 when artist Tammra Sigler paints live to the music of Ars Nova String Trio performing in concert. The evening will also include wine and dessert, together with a live auction of the artwork created that night by guest auctioneer Bill Barnett.
Sigler is a popular von Liebig Arts Center instructor. Her classes are characterized by live music and performing artists who both inspire and enliven the creative spirit. She credits master artists Matisse and Picasso with opening the door for her to try anything.
Tammra's work has been shown extensively and she has been awarded many prizes across the country. Her paintings and monotypes are part of the permanent collections of The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. and the Baltimore Museum of Art, as well as many private and corporate collections nationally and internationally. Twice (1994, 2000), her work has been included by Open Studio Press in their national publication “New American Painting.”
A few of the corporate collections that house her work include Chase Manhattan Bank of New York, Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, Health Insurance Association of America, Federal Reserve Bank of Virginia, Ayres/Saint/Gross Inc., Shelter Development Corporation, Murdock Development Corporation of Los Angeles, Deloitte and Touche, The Johns Hopkins Oncology Center, Percontee Corporation, Sheppard Pratt Health System, Gordon Feinblatt Rothman Hoffberger and Hollander, Piper and Marbury, University of Maryland, Towson University, and The Maryland Institute College of Art.
Based in Naples, the Ars Nova String Trio brings together three chamber musicians from very diverse backgrounds: Jennifer Kozbial, violin; John T. Posadas, viola; and Adam Satinsky, Cello. The trio met while performing together as leading members of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra.
