Cleveland ,OH- Country life is hard and dirty . The men emerged from the fields after a hard day of working . They chose to drink and party and they wanted their music to reflect that henceforth country music and the blues were formed . Lets fast forward a few generations and take our time machine to church .Ladies and gentleman I present the Church of The Lazy Bastards .This band was formed in 2008 after the break up of the band “ Brennan’s Revenge “ They have performed the rock, country, blues and rockabilly style of music at venues near and far . The band has had the distinct pleasure of opening for such revered acts as David Allen Coe, Wanda Jackson , Go Buck Yourself , T-Model Ford ,Grace Askew and Whitey Morgan and the 78’s .It was at such a recent performance with Whitey Morgan that the band caught my eye . The nine song set included great harmonica playing , dirty riffs and catchy beats . Some of my favorite songs of the night included “ Sara “ and “ In The Trees “ and a new song called “ Half a Mile “ . In addition the band did a great rendition of “ East Bound and Down ”a classic song from the Smokey and the Bandit movie serial ,. The band consists of Rick Sirl- acoustic guitar and singing, Rick Pflueger- electrified guitar ,John Ban- harmonica ,Nick Petrak- drums and fill in bass player was Larry Kalal for this performance. The band has an official face book page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Church-of-the-Lazy-Bastards/45684208314 so make sure you check it out for more information The band has a free download at http://churchofthelazybastards.bandcamp.com/album/deviant-life .
