Artist profile: Candice Simpson

The ever delightful Candice Simpson, a local artist/faux finisher, shares some of her favorites and gives us a peek at some of her projects in a slideshow...

Candice has been a working artist for many years. She is a genius when it comes to commissioned art, faux finishes on walls, cabinetry and furniture, as well as being very knowledgeable on green finishes for your home.

1. Favorite artist: too hard to pick just one!

2. Favorite design style: Retro Parisian. Is that a style?

3. Favorite artist tool: My little baby trowel that is only 3” long. It’s sooo cute!

4. Favorite color: Blue/green turquoise of the ocean

5. Guilty pleasure: Carmel and Dark Chocolate Magnum ice bars. OMG.

6. Favorite museum: Musee d’Orsay in Paris!

7. Most recent project you’re working on: Cherry blossom tree mural

8. Best place to shop for art supplies: Art Materials in Mpls is great. I also go to Blick in Roseville when I’m on the north end of town.

9. Your go-to spot for inspiration: William O’brian state park or Square Lake Park
