Painter, comic creator, toy and apparel designer -- when it comes to Camilla d'Errico's artistic resume it might be easier to list the things she hasn't done yet than to scroll through her many accomplishments, and now, the young artist is celebrating the release of her first art book from Dark Horse comics, entitled Femina and Fauna: The Art of Camilla d'Errico.

The book, which retails for $22.99 and is available at the Dark Horse website, is the culmination of a career ambition for the Pop Surrealism princess.

“The anticipation of having my own full sized art book has been building for several years, so to finally have Femina & Fauna released is an overwhelming experience," d'Errico said.

She is also celebrating the fact that she was recently nominated for Canada's first national award to spotlight the work of outstanding artists working in comics, the coveted Joe Shuster Award.

Upon learning her work on Sky Pirates of Neo Terra #4-5, and Red Riding Hood in the Fractured Fables Anthology, had been nominated for the prestigious Canadian award, d'Errico said, "I am honored and humbled to be nominated in this category, and in the company of some of the entire comic book industry's best artists."

To see how d'Errico's work affects and inspires her fans, look no further than a recent Dark Horse promotion for Femina and Fauna: The Art of Camilla d'Errico that offered up a free original sketch to a lucky fan who left a comment about why they were excited about her new book.

The comments are an inspiring tribute to the relationship d'Errico has forged with her legion of fans, all of who seem to fully appreciate the beautiful manga-inspired female characters she excels at creating and just how far she has come as an artist in just five short years.

Beginning March 11, 2011, Los Angeles residents will be able to see d'Errico's work up close and in person at "INLE," an art show celebrating the novel "Watership Down" at Gallery 88 in Los Angeles.

Femina and Fauna: The Art of Camilla d'Errico is available at the Dark Horse website and retails for $22.99.
