Artisan cheese festival comes to Miami

See also

The Cheese Connection, Miami's first artisanal cheese festival, starts this Saturday, March 19th, at 2pm until 9pm, and again Sunday, March 20th, from 10am until 7pm. The event will take place at the Miami Airport Convention Center, located at 711 NW 72nd Ave at the Doubltree Mart (this is the old Radisson Merchandise Mart).

According to the festival's website, there will be a program of seminars, covering a range of topics from artisanal cheesemaking, to cheese and wine pairing. A full schedule of the seminars is available here, as well as full infofmation on the fesitval. The promoters are promising a large turnout of cheese producers, so this will be an excellent opportunity to try cheeses that you will not normally find in our local shops.

Tickets for the event can be purchase on-line at the fesitval website; the festival is offering readers of this column a 25% discount; just enter FROMAGEBOB as the coupon code.

I would urge ALL cheeselovers in Miami to turn out to support this event. This is their first year, and a success for them will go a long way to ensure a second!
