Artie Lange suicide attempt lands him in the hospital with nine stab wounds

Artie Lange tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself nine times over the weekend. Lange's mom called 911 after finding him bloody in his apartment, Page Six reports. Artie Lange suicide attempt left him with three deep wouds and six "hesitation wounds".

An unidentified source close to Artie Lange confirmed that he had stabbed himself. The doctors were able to save Lange despite his heavy bleeding.

Howard Stern announced Monday that Lange will not be leaving the show. Stern called him "a tremendous contributor.".
