Artie Lange steamrolls the premiere of Joe Buck Live

Once again, Artie Lange’s got everybody talking.  His appearance on the premiere of “Joe Buck Live” on HBO on Monday night is just the latest in a string of public appearances catapulting Artie Lange to the number one spot on Google hot trends on Tuesday morning.

Artie Lange shared the guests’ couch with actor Jason Sudeikis from “Saturday Night Live” and Paul Rudd from “I Love You Man” and “Role Models.”  Rudd and Sudeikis acted as little more than window dressing as the show became Artie Lange’s one-man show with Joe Buck occasionally, desperately trying to chirp a word in edgewise.

What was supposed to be Joe Buck’s big night turned into an episode of “Artie Lange Live” as Buck quickly lost control of his celebrity panel and Artie Lange took over.

Artie Lange was unapologetic on Tuesday morning’s Howard Stern Show broadcast.  The entire Howard Stern Show cast and every fan that could get through on the phone called in to voice an opinion on Artie Lange’s Joe Buck Live appearance.  Howard Stern himself stated that he thought that Artie’s appearance was “brilliant,” and that the show had been “rudderless” until Lange took over.  Fred Norris gave Artie Lange's appearance an “A+.”

Robin Quivers was less enthusiastic, stating that she felt Artie Lange’s wild appearance would “come back to haunt him” later on.

Artie Lange’s nine minute segment on Joe Buck Live was rife with gay jokes from start to finish.  Perhaps even more disconcerting for Joe Buck, though, was Artie Lange’s searing sarcasm regarding Buck’s interviewing skills.

“Great segue,” Artie Lange snarled at Buck when the host tried to move down the couch to get a comment on dealing with fame from Jason Sudeikis.

“Sorry to ruin your great show,” Artie Lange snapped as the segment came to a close.

“I appreciate the apology,” replied Joe Buck awkwardly.  “Because you have.”

In a post-show interview with USA Today, Joe Buck told the paper: "Do I think it went too far? Yes," said Buck. "Will he be back? If it's up to me, no. But again it's live TV man."
