Artie Lange probably won't be back in the Howard Stern Show studios for a long time, but at least his voice is back.

Howard Stern Show engineers gave fans a taste of Artie Lange with some classic sound clips of the beleaguered sidekick going ape.

Howard Stern Show Wack Packer Mariann from Brooklyn was in studio to wish Howard Stern a happy birthday, and Howard Stern told the shrill superfan that Artie Lange was on the phone for her, and proceeded to play the clip of Artie Lange arguing with Mariann on a previous episode, screaming:

"Go make some lasagna that probably sucks!" and then a series of "c-words".

Everyone in studio knew it was a clip and not Artie Lange live, but it was still a huge relief/tearjerker for fans who are longing for their favorite tragic clown. Mariann from Brooklyn, who had a vicious on-air fight with Artie Lange several months ago, has nothing but love for Artie Lange now. As the vicious Artie Lange rant on Mariann played in the background, Mariann screamed over the audio:

"I love you Artie, no matter what!"

Stern recently refused to play Artie Lange clips despite a fan's request because hearing the sound of the ailing comedian's voice was just too painful for the King of All Media. Howard Stern Show fans were blown away by last week's news that Artie Lange's hospitalization last weekend was due to a violent suicide attempt.

For Howard Stern Show fans, it was just good to hear Artie Lange's voice.
