As Howard Stern Show fans slog forward without any real news on the condition of beloved HSS sidekick Artie Lange, the pain lingers and the void deepens.

This week, Howard Stern choked up his co-stars and his fans by mentioning Artie Lange after Fred Norris played Jewel's live performance of "Needle and the Damage" as an intro back from commercial break.
"I don't know about you, but my mind goes to Artie now when I hear that song. He's f---ed that song up for me because now I think about him--the needle and the damage done. Not that he's ever a needle guy, but--ya know. Heroin."

Six months after Artie Lange's violent suicide attempt by stabbing, it's still rare that a Howard Stern Show broadcast goes by without some mention of Lange. Despite tremendous efforts by the Howard Stern Show staff to limit discussions of the subject out of respect to Lange's family, callers are still regularly pestering the HSS and Wrap-Up Show staff for any kind of update.
And then, sometimes, Howard just can't help himself. As a man who built his career on saying whatever was on his mind, it's unavoidable.
Shortly after Artie Lange's suicide attempt, a fan made a tribute video to Lange set to the Johnny Cash version of the Nine Inch Nails hit 'Hurt'. Howard Stern has admitted to watching the video repeatedly during his struggles to cope with Lange's violent ordeal.

Stern also recently spoke about finding a place to hang a portrait of Neil Young that Artie Lange once gave him a birthday gift. After ridiculing Lange about the gift for year, Howard recently said that he found a place to hang it up.

No doubt, how about correcting the article and giving proper credit. "Needle and the damage done" was written and performed by Neil Young, Jewel bought rights to it and performs it now.

You do know it was a Neil Young song first, right? You can't honestly think Jewel wrote that song. Neil Young has the original, and I promise, better verison of Needle and the Damage Done
Typical ignorant HS fans. Nobody said it was "Jewel's song". It says "Jewel's live performance...".
