Artie Lange may return to Howard Stern Show in 2012

Artie Lange says he may return to the Howard Stern Show for an interview later this year.

Lange and his Fox Sports Radio co-host Nick DiPaolo were interviewed for Sports Illustrated's 'Hot Clicks' podcast Wednesday, and host Jimmy Traina asked Artie Lange for the straight dope on his current relationship with Howard Stern and whether he'll ever return to HSS for an interview.

Lange was frank, saying that there have been discussions about him returning to the Stern Show this fall to talk about the release of his second memoir which focuses heavily on his years with the King of All Media:

“I have a book coming out in November," said Lange. "And obviously it’s going to cover a lot of crazy, crazy stuff. And I was told, possibly, when the book came out to come on, because it’s going to cover a lot of stuff that happened on the show. I mean, I would do it whenever they wanted, but I understand their apprehension and it’s not out of any bad feelings. It’s out of them being concerned for my health and anything that going back on that show might bring back up for me.”

Artie Lange was last on the Howard Stern Show as a cast member in December 2009. After years of struggling with depression and heroin addiction, Sirius XM management placed him on mandatory medical leave. Lange attempted suicide by stabbing less than a month later.
