Artie Lange laughs off a week of missed work
Artie Lange was absent from The Howard Stern Show for the third day in a row Thursday morning, fueling rumors that the beleaugered comedian is on yet another drug binge. Artie Lange actually "called in" to The Howard Stern Show on Thursday, but could barely squeak out an explanation for his absence between his cackling bouts of hysterical laughter.
After a limp voicemail left on producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate's voicemail Tuesday morning, Artie Lange "called in" sick again on Wednesday by texting Baba Booey that he would be missing another day. Thursday brought another cryptic text message for Baba Booey, reading:
"Gar, did not have relapse, got sick coming back on plane, don’t wanna to get anyone else sick. Need the weekend. See you Monday."
"Maybe I prefer to work alone."

I heard a replay, and it sounded like someone using a "soundboard" of clips from past Artie phone calls. While Artie might be alotta things, he's not stupid enough to laugh in "Howard & Company's" face like "he" did this morning. I promise you, it wasn't him. Of course the bigger question still remains: Where the hell is he and is he still sober or did he slip? He definitely needs to be in a 12 Step program and held accountable for his actions (or in this, INactions).

Uh, that was a FAKE phone call using old Artie voice clips. I can't believe this moron thought it was for real. If you even heard the context of the entire call, you could tell it was cut up clips...and NOT live. I think Robin and Howard even said it was a fake call immediately afterwards.
