Artie Lange made a surprise cameo appearance on the season finale of Saturday Night Live hosted by Will Ferrell this weekend. Artie Lange's close friend Norm MacDonald was among the many former SNL cast members that showed up for Will Ferrell's episode.
Artie Lange appeared with Norm MacDonald in the final sketch of the evening in which Will Ferrell played a businessman who was overly affected by a recent leisure trip to Vietnam. When asked how he enjoyed the country, Will Ferrell launched into a dramatic performance of Billy Joel's epic Vietnam War soldier tribute piece "Goodnight Saigon" and was eventually joined by the entire Saturday Night Live cast including retired members Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Norm MacDonald. Recent SNL hosts Anne Hathaway, Tom Hanks and Paul Rudd also joined this final sketch.
Artie Lange appeared much slimmer than he has looked in recent months. Artie Lange's public battle with drug addiction has lead many fans of The Howard Stern Show to fear for his life. Artie Lange openly admits that he idolizes SNL alumni John Belushi and Chris Farley, two former Saturday Night Live cast members that died from drug addiction at a young age.
