Details are sketchy, but TMZ is reporting that Howard Stern Show darling Artie Lange has been arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI). Artie Lange’s Nissan Sentra apparently rear-ended a Pontiac while the comedian was driving near Tom’s River, New Jersey around 1:30pm Friday afternoon. There were no reported injuries. TMZ has not reported whether Artie Lange was suspected of driving while under the influence of heroin or another substance.
Artie Lange’s struggles with drug and alcohol addiction have become one of the central talking points of The Howard Stern Show since Lange’s on-air admission of heroin addiction in 2007. Over the past year, everyone related to show from Beetlejuice to Dr. Drew Pinsky has weighed in on Artie Lange’s addiction problems.
Artie Lange’s physical and mental health were showing some signs of improvement over the last few months. Artie Lange lost more than fifty pounds, claimed total sobriety and stated that he was in love with his new girlfriend Adrianne. Artie Lange also stated that he told Adrianne that if he ever started using drugs again, she should “get the hell away from me.”
While hearing that Artie Lange has scored a DUI may not shock regular fans of the show, the Nissan Sentra might. Perhaps the wildest question of all right now is: "What the hell was Artie doing driving a Nissan Sentra?"

Someone said his Mercedes was in the shop for repairs after another recent "minor accident" and the Nissan was a rental.
His Mercedes was hit in a NJ airport parking lot when he was in NY. He was not at the scene when the Mercedes was damaged.
If his attitude recently isnt enough of a dead give away- a DUI in the middle of the day? NOT a good sign...
Maybe Howard will have the courage to fire this talentless fool now that's he's clearly jeopardizing others' lives. Get a spine Howard.
