Saranac Lake is a great stop on the arts trail of the Adirondacks. This Friday, a new show of acrylic paintings by Ursula Wyatt Trudeau is opening at the Adirondack Artists Guild at 52 Main Street, with a reception from 5-7PM.
The show is called "In and Out," featuring a number of the recent works by Ms. Trudeau, a native of Canada who has been living and painting in both the Caribbean and the Adirondacks for many years. She studied art at the Montreal Ecole des Beaux Arts and painting with the late Hans Hoffman, Stanley Cosgrove and Alfred Pellan, and her work is further influenced by her extensive world travels.
The show will run from July 12th through August 3rd. Check the AAG website for more information, or to learn about the many talented artists affiliated.
Saranac is a little village, so while you're there, head over to the Adirondack Artists Guild at 52 Main to try out the month-old art vending machine out front. It's an antique cigarette machine converted to serve and much more lofty purpose, the promotion of creativity. And for just $1 you can buy a creative little piece of the Saranac community, including tickets to the Pendragon Theatre (which has a special one-night-only celebration performance this Saturday) , as well as items designed to encourage you to visit the many studios. ART WALK is tonight, so there's a lot do in Saranac Lake this weekend!
