Art Night Austin 2010

Art Alliance Austin has announced details for their 2010 Art Night Austin event. On Saturday, February 27th from 6:30pm to 10pm, attendees of this unique annual evening of art and food will have the rare opportunity to experience the Austin art scene in a truly memorable way.

Attendees will be chauffeured from gallery to gallery where they will be treated to chef-prepared culinary delights while absorbing the current exhibition in each space. Among the participating galleries are the Austin Museum of Art, Haven Gallery, IF+D, dberman gallery, Women & Their Work, Wally Workman Gallery, L. Nowlin Gallery and the Russell Collection Fine Art Gallery. Participating chefs and restaurants include Cafe Josie - Chef Charles Mayes, Botticelli's South Congress, Tacodeli - Chef Joel Fried, La Condesa - Chef Rene Ortiz, Frank and NXNW. Attendees of this even will also be treated to music throughout the evening by DJ Mel, DJ Chicken George, Sam&tha, DJ Thibault, Matteo, DJ Twist and Shout and DJ Johnny Bravvo.

Tickets are $75, which includes an Art City Austin 2010 two-day Art Pass for April 24-25 valued at $15. Discounts on this ticket price will be available for a limited time at participating 2ND Street District businesses, the Austin Museum of Art and The Blanton during Art Week Austin: April 21-25.

If you are looking to party all night long there is also an After Party scheduled which will be from 9:30pm until 1am at the Starr Building, under renovation at 6th and Colorado. According to their site, "Party goers will enjoy food, drinks and DJ sets against the backdrop of interiors by Florence Knoll and a renowned mural by Seymour Fogel, considered an important piece in Texas modernist art." Tickets for the After Party are $25.
