Art market update June 1 in Beverly Hills

The strength of the art markets continues. Christies' auction of Picasso multiples in April sold out. Philips de Pury’s spring auction of contemporary and modern art sold ninety-percent of the art offered above the sellers’ asking prices. Upscale illustration art set new price records at the May 5 Modernist auction at Swann Galleries.

Understanding why this is happening and the outlook for future trends in the art market is key to success. Los Angeles area readers will have an opportunity to hear from industry insiders on this subject in the introductory workshop, “Valuing Art.”

The “Valuing Art” workshop will introduce you to helpful resources for art business success. The program will outline time-tested techniques for estimating art prices and finding the best values in the art market. Attendees will also hear important new developments related to the listing of shares in works of art on the Paris Art Exchange and private investments in art related businesses.
