"Art Beats"- Music meets Art at Gallery Bar

We all know that fashion and music go together like milk and cookies but fine art and music are a just as tasty combination. To prove this point, the people of Gallery Bar premiered a new event series last night called "Art Beats" . The premise of the event series is to stimulate guests with multiple art mediums in one fabulous evening. "With all the forms of Art in NYC happening at such a high level all the time, we felt mixing many art forms, each with its own devoted audience, would create an exciting enviroment. " said co-proprietor of Gallery Bar, Darin Rubell.

Last night, guests had their visual, aural, and lingual senses tickled by sipping on wine, viewing art, and listening to the tunes of DJ Cassie and DJ Vikas of STADJ model DJs. "We're proud to be collaborating with Gallery Bar on ART BEATS." said STADJ Music founder and DJ, Edan Miller,  "Just as our work has resulted in an organized new way of looking at the DJ, I expect mixing many art forms and audiences together at once will result in more fresh new ways of looking at the ordinary everyday."

"Art Beats" will present the many faces of today's art by showcasing a new artist one Wednesday every month. Yesterday's successful launch featured artist, Emma Cleary. The Dublin born, NYC based artist self-financed her art by working in the night life industry. “Fusion events like ART BEATS make creative sense. People often say to me ‘you have to choose: are you a painter or do you want to continue working in nightlife?’” Cleary explains, “I never understood why you can only be one thing. My work at night and my work during the day make up two sides to my personality and it is my work in nightlife through the years that has served as the biggest inspiration for my art.”

Though guests were able to party and appreciate good art, they were also able to donate to UNICEF to help relief efforts for the people of Haiti. It's always great to be able to enjoy a good event while partying for a cause. Check out the pictures from the event on photobucket.
