Art Basel Miami Beach is nation's biggest show of the year where art, fashion and technology meets. The festivities run all week long bringing around 70,000 visitors from all over the world to a culture friendly and warm Miami.
As a tradition, Vanity Fair will hold a kick off party at MOCA on December 3rd. More parties join in every year. Each of them showcase their latest creations.
The Vernisage at the Convention Center is something not to miss for those who get special invitations. It will take place on December 4th and it will be filled with art and fashion lovers, collectors, celebrities, press and VIP pass holders
The main Art Basel Miami Beach show will open to public the next day, December 5th and will run though the 8th.
This year we expect to see Paul Kasmin Galleries representing sculptures by Bernar Venet, who's work is proudly installed in a front yard of Houston's blue chip art collectors' family home, Gallerie Thaddaeus Ropac and Buchman Gallerie who normally exhibit Tony Cragg who's larger than life sculptures embellish Performing Arts District Downtown Houston, Richard Gray Gallery that presents multiple works of Jaume Plensa who's men made out of letters are lined up at Buffalo Bayou, along Allan Parkway. The jewel of jewels, Houston's very own Sicardi Gallery is expected to exhibit the art by Carlos Cruz-Diez, Leon Ferrari, Jesus Rafael Soto and few others.
With main Art Basel Miami Beach and a few dozen of satellite shows, pop up shops in Design District, Design Miami and many more amazing events, one week will not be enough to cover even the smallest portion what it has to offer.
