Art and brew to benefit Placer SPCA

See also

On April 26, 2014, art and brew will come together in a unique event to support the Placer SPCA. That doesn’t mean artists will be painting with beer in some wild experiment. It does mean that from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 17 local artists will gather themselves and their creative works at the Roseville Brewing Company Tap Room located at 501 Derek Place in Roseville, CA for an entire day of art and beer pairing.

During the Art & Brew event, visitors will be able to avail themselves of both brew and art while also benefiting the Placer SPCA with any purchases or donations. A portion of all proceeds will go directly to support the cause to “enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond.” The Placer SPCA vision will be in the forefront of the mind of all attending animal lovers as they browse, admire and perhaps purchase one or several works of art and sip some suds. That important Placer SPCA vision includes an aim to ensure that every adoptable companion animal in Placer County has a home; every lost companion animal in Placer County is reunited with its owner; every dog and cat owner in Placer County has access to affordable spay and neuter services and every companion animal is treated with kindness and respect

The Roseville Brewing Company will be serving from their current available specialty brews which are likely to include Blackberry Wheat, Heavy Rail Pale Ale, Spike Driver, Apricot Wheat, Armstrong Amber and Orange Chocolate. Yum! Gourmet food will also be available for purchase from Pop-Up! Grub Hub Catering with a variety of tasty menu items including gourmet tacos, salads and appetizers.

The variety of art that will be on display and for sale includes a broad range of mediums from acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, photography, glass, sculpture, jewelry, gourds, ceramics, pottery, mosaics, petroglyphs, and other fine art. Beer, art and animal lovers will unite and share in the joy of the visual arts as presented by an incredible group of local artists which will include Gayle Rappaport-Weiland, Andrea Martin, Tara Beaton, Ann Ranlett, Linda Hoschler, LeeAnn Dickson, Philip Venable, Chuck Kritzon, Betsy Kritzon, Heidi Bekebrede, Inger Price, Connie Omans, Suzanne Bell, Sharon Gerber, Suzanne McClelland, Kurt Hausmann and Lisa Schene.

Along with a portion of sales proceeds being donated, a raffle for an original piece of ceramic art by Anthony Maki Gill will be held with 100% of the raffle proceeds going to the Placer SPCA. A mobile animal unit, also known as the Pet Mobile, is expected to be on site with “lots of adorable animals looking for forever homes.”

The Art & Brew event is a wonderful way to enjoy art, beer, people, food and even some furry friends all in one location. Event promoter Gayle Rappaport-Weiland states,“The partnership hopes to make this an annual event. We are bringing together our passions ... for a great cause. This unusual combination promises to be a unique experience that you don’t want to miss!” With specialty beers on tap, attendees will be able to take their time viewing the arts while satisfying their tongue's taste for flavor. It’s a great combination as well as a great cause and the event is FREE. Art & Brew will take place rain or shine. The participating artist’s work can also be viewed from April 26 – June 5, 2014 at Gallery iQ located at 3700 Midas Ave., Suite B3, Rocklin.
