Fans of actor and comedian Arsenio Hall will feel like they’ve taken a trip back in time when the entertainer returns to his late night roots with his revamped “Arsenio Hall Show”. Ahead of tonight’s debut, Hall has been making the rounds promoting the return of his late-night talk show and explaining the reason behind his comeback among other topics.
During an interview with “Eye Opener” Hall revealed “Reverend Brown” was his favorite character from the hit 1988 romantic-comedy “Coming To America” with friend and fellow comedic actor Eddie Murphy.
“My favorite character from “Coming To America” was probably the preacher because my dad was a baptist preacher so it’s real easy for me at any moment to say I got joy in my heart, I got joy in my soul, heeey! You know, I mean I’ll go there in a minute, so that was my favorite character.“
Hall last starred in the action-comedy “Black Dynamite” from 2009 with Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. “Black Dynamite” and “Coming To America” are both available on DVD.
As for his late-night talk show, Hall’s first-week lineup includes actors Chris Tucker, Lisa Kudrow, Ice Cube, George Lopez, Mark Harmon and Angela Bassett. ”The Arsenio Hall Show” Premieres Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. CST.
