Arsenic Addiction released the album art for the cover of their newest work in progress yesterday ‘Echoes of Mourning: Communion with the Damned' and with its release (and some insight from Lady Arsenic into this albums creation) I am reminded of a few lines from the poem ‘Lenore’ by Edgar Allan Poe:
‘Let no bell toll!
Lest her sweet soul,
Amid its hallow’d mirth,
Should catch the note
As it doth float
Up from the damned earth-’
With the release of the album art work, Arsenic Addiction is giving addicts, as fans are fondly called, a small dose of what is to come and appeasing their metal wonton souls. Lady Arsenic was kind enough to divulge a bit about ‘Echoes of Mourning: Communion with the Damned’.
Shannon- What was the inspiration behind the artwork?
Lady Arsenic- The inspiration was necromancy. A type of magic that brings a being back from the dead but not as it once was. No longer man, woman, or beast but some imitation of life and death. We gave the artist symbols and elements to work with and the interpretation was her own. We couldn't have asked for better, her interpretation was perfect.
Shannon- What can addicts expect from the new album?
Lady Arsenic- Addicts can be expected to be surprised, pleasantly we hope. We are working hard on this album and an official release date is not set as we want this album to be exactly as we intended. Every measure of music, every melody, every whisper must fit together in perfect harmony (no pun intended). The emotion of this album is overwhelming and the vision must be met with great care.
Shannon- What does Arsenic Addiction have planned for the next few months?
Lady Arsenic- Arsenic Addiction will opening for Abigail Williams on February 11th, Eclipse Radio's special guests at "Metal Unbound" March 9th in Boise, ID, heading to Butte, MT March 23rd, and then Spokane, WA March 24th (possibly with locals Dead Vessel - Confirmation pending), and releasing a few singles off the album come the end of April. This summer we hope to have a full tour underway! (Stay in touch with Arsenic Addiction to see when we'll be in your town.)
Shannon- Is there anything you wish to add?
Lady Arsenic- Yes, we'd like to give a shout and big thank you to beautiful Megan Dipo of Abuse of Reason Art & Photography, Bruce Kirby of BoHo Digitalia Recording Studio, and to every Arsenic Addict. Without your support we could not even fathom achieving what we have and what we've set out to accomplish. Cheers!
Arsenic Addiction is always a bloody good time, whether you’re listening to their music or attending a live show, one is always entertained by the theatrics as well as the baptisms which are bestowed at live shows upon those whom truly worship the music. Their combination of Victorian era meets metal mayhem stands out in such a way that it is all but impossible not to become addicted.
