'Arrow' 'Tremors' recap: Another exciting episode filled with reveals

"Arrow" season 2 continued with the big reveals with Wednesday, Jan. 29's episode 12, "Tremors," in which the Arrow trained Roy, Laurel continued to spiral out of control, and Moira was presented with a unique opportunity.

Learning control The Arrow had Roy slapping water in a bowl, just like Shado had had him do, but Roy wanted to actually get out there and hit something that would hit back and even telling him that he had put an arrow in the eye of the guy he knew who had been injected with Mirakuru didn't change his mind. When Felicity discovered that Bronze Tiger had escaped (she had hacked into the prison system network, which made Oliver proud) and the team realized he was going to Malcolm Merlyn's house, it was time for Roy to hoodie up and join him.

After a brief sad moment for a photo of Tommy, they found Bronze Tiger and two thugs of the guy who had hired him packing up a prototype of the earthquake machine. While Arrow fought Bronze Tiger, Roy pulled the driver out of the truck and began punching him, but his anger took over and Bronze Tiger ended up driving off with the machine. Oliver wanted to get through to Roy after he hadn't been able to get through to Slade when he had made the mistake of not being the one to tell him what happened to Shado, but that wasn't going to be easy. Roy tried to convince Thea to leave town, but it didn’t work, and he just wanted to protect her, meaning he'd throw the Arrow around if he got in his way.

However, Roy showed up to help the Arrow in his final showdown with Bronze Tiger in his attempt to stop the sale of the machine, and in order to get through to Roy, Oliver lowered his hood and revealed who he was because he needed Roy to punch through the container holding the machine after it was activated. He told him to think about Thea, and it worked, and after everyone was safe, Roy told him he saved him and gave him a purpose. As they shook hands, Oliver told him, "We're just getting started," and so Roy got to meet the rest of "Team Arrow," as Felicity (but not Oliver) called them. But there was still the matter of keeping an eye on his mental health…

A new proposition After being locked up again, Bronze Tiger received a visit from Amanda Waller, who had an offer for him. She needed someone with his skills for a unit – more like a squad! – she was putting together.

Losing control Lance tried to reach out to his daughter, but Laurel would much rather sit at home drinking wine than go out to dinner with him, and when she did agree, he tried to take her to a meeting. That didn't work out so well, and after finding out she was likely going to be disbarred, Thea ended up having to call Oliver about her being drunk in the club. They sent her home in a cab, and as the episode ended, she stumbled into her living room and fell to the floor, and when she looked up, she saw Sara!

More than just a dinner Moira thought she was just meeting Walter for dinner, but she was in for a surprise when it turned out that Mark Francis was joining them – and the men wanted her to run against Sebastian Blood for mayor of Starling City. While she thought it was a joke, they were very serious, and it ended up being Thea who helped convince her mother to say yes. Thea didn't think it was so crazy. Voters loved a good redemption story, and this was one way she could help save the city some thought she had tried to destroy. There was only one problem: her OB knew Robert wasn't Thea's father. They'd have to make sure he wouldn't be a problem.

Reasoning with madness Back on the island, Oliver and Sara tried to track down Slade, and she warned him, "Love's the most powerful emotion, and that makes it the most dangerous." When they did eventually find him, he was planning to blow up the freighter to get revenge for Shado's death, and he pointed a gun at Oliver's head when he tried to stop him. In the end, it was love that got through to Slade, as Oliver told him that Shado did love him, maybe not how he wanted, but she did and she wanted him to get home. Blowing up the freighter would take away their only chance off the island, and instead, the new plan was to take the freighter.
