'Arrow', 'Supernatural' and 'The Vampire Diaries' are renewed by the CW

Oliver Queen has yet to failed the CW, as the network renews Arrow for a second season.

A much darker reboot of DC Comics' legendary Emerald Archer, the series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, a billionaire who returns home to Starling City after living on an island for five years. He hones his newfound skills as the vigilante currently known as "the Hood" to fight crime and corruption in the city.

Arrow's series opener last fall became the CW's highest-rated premiere since The Vampire Diaries in 2009.

And speaking of TVD, the CW also renewed the young adult vampire romance for a fifth season, while the Winchester brothers still have more demon-hunting work to do as Supernatural gets picked up for a ninth season.

Arrow and Supernatural airs Wednesdays on the CW; The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8pm.
