As if things weren't bad enough in Starling City right now, John Barrowman is back as Malcolm Merlyn in next week's "Arrow," episode 222, "Streets of Fire." On Wednesday, April 30, the CW released a new extended preview teasing what to expect in the season's penultimate hour.
The latest episode ended in a way that likely had you screaming at your TV, wondering where the rest of the episode was. Well, it's in next week's "Streets of Fire." While Oliver (with Laurel at his side after she revealed she knows his secret) was able to bury some of the Mirakuru soldiers in the tunnels, there are still soldiers out in Starling City, including at the train station as Thea was getting ready to leave town and the police station – and Diggle's going to be a bit busy with Isabel.
In this next "Arrow" episode, Oliver rallies his team as Slade's solders attack Starling City. Meanwhile, S.T.A.R. Labs calls Felicity with game-changing (and hopefully good!) news, and Thea comes face-to-face with her father, Malcolm Merlyn.
The "Streets of Fire" trailer offers a look at the damage Slade's army is doing to the city – and that includes a certain van crashing?! Oliver does end up trapped after he buries the soldiers, but once he's free, it's just the beginning, and it looks like even the police (other than Lance) are going to have to admit that they need the Arrow's help. Plus, get a look at Malcolm's return and check out Laurel with bow in hand. "The city is falling," Malcolm says, but whose side is he on? Why did he return? Is it for Thea because he heard about Moira's death, or does he have another agenda? (The answer is probably yes to both.)
"Arrow" season 2 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of the episode 22 "Streets of Fire" promo?
