Oliver is working with some people that don’t particularly like him. It’s interesting seeing him deal with people without his hood on. Isabel and Sebastian Blood pop up again. Most of the time, Oliver Queen’s life as a CEO isn’t that exciting. But, there is a comic lore to Isabel’s character that could manifest at any time, and, well, Sebastian proves to be more than he seems. Now forgive me, but I am not an expert on the comic book backstories on any of these characters, so I am not sure who exactly Sebastian is. What I do know is that he wants the Mayor to join his ranks, and is injecting him with some serum, and that does not scream good guy. What are your thoughts about Sebastian and Isabel?
Black Canary has been unmasked! As it turns out, she is Sara Lance, aka Laurel’s sister. Viewers thought that she perished when the Queen’s Gambit went down, but Oliver claims he saw her one year later, but still believed she had died after that. This is a twist that a good bit of fans saw coming. Still, it adds an interesting dynamic to the show. Plus now there is the mystery of what happened to Sara. She mentions Slade to Oliver, which is intriguing. The flashback reveals that she worked on the ship that takes Oliver, and she seems to be working in the capacity of torturer. What do you make of the twist? Are you a fan of Sara’s?
Laurel is troubling. This pill and alcohol problem that she has seems to come out of nowhere. It does make sense that someone who went through all of that would turn to drugs, but there haven’t been any indications before this episode. In this episode, viewers watch her spiral downwards. Perhaps this storyline is added to help give Sara the incentive to reveal herself to her family. Another good thing about Laurel’s storyline is that it gives viewers the chance to see another side of Detective Lance. What are your thoughts on Laurel?
